Align Sport Therapy & Yoga has a strong focus on alignment, hands-on adjustments, and balance between the body and mind. Caitlin constantly works and reworks yoga class plans that will invigorate the spirit. Caitlin’s unique style adds elements of humour, relaxation and focus to each yoga class. Caitlin’s extensive training and experience with physical rehabilitation allows her to safely design classes for all levels of strength, flexibility, and ability.
A more traditional approach, Hatha yoga leads the body toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose. Used as a powerful tool for self-transformation, it asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment. Postures are sustained for 15 seconds to 1 minute.
YOGA FOR ATHLETES
These specialized sequences are created specifically to address specific issues athletes commonly face playing their respective sports. Specific attention is given toward improving range of movement in joints and muscle groups that are necessary for each sport (hips, groins, hip flexors for hockey players vs. shoulders, core, and spine for volleyball players). Twists and lateral stretches aid with power generation from the core. Neck stretches and strengthening exercises reduce the complications of concussions. Balances, both upper body and lower body, improve proprioception and body awareness.

Restorative yoga is a gentle form that allows the body and mind to unwind to a perfect balance. It is a great style for individuals at the end of a stressful day, those with chronic pain or fatigue, as well as weekend warriors and athletes. This gentle and slow-paced class will relax and replenish.
Vinyasa yoga involves a wide variety of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa yoga classes are smooth flowing through a series of poses. The difficulty of poses can vary from class to class.
Kids can benefit from yoga too! Yoga allows children to express themselves physically and learn the important skill of self-reflection and focus (even if it’s just 2 minutes at a time!).
